MEET THE CAST: Janee Latrice Abbot

Janee Latrice Abbott

Character: Tiny
Production: Miss Minnie Mae's Going Home Party
Short Bio: Abbott began training  in dance at age 8 and trained under Gwendolyn Bye (Gwendolyn Bye Dance Center), Joan Myers Brown (Philadelphia School of Dance Arts), and LaDeva Davis at The Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts  (dance major from 2000-2004). During her years at C.A.P.A. her love for theater was cultivated. In 2004, she founded her own dance company  which toured the city for two years. Abbott  has performed in theaters throughout the Philadelphia area.  In 2001 she was featured as a lead vocal soloist in The Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade at age 14!  She is thrilled at the opportunity to reunite with her very first love; the stage! At the very foundation of all that she does is her resolute faith in God, as she is humbled and grateful at any opportunity she is presented with. She presently direct the theater arts ministry at her “second home” Catalyst for Change Church (Philadelphia, PA). She lives by, and can often be heard declaring, “Without God, I’m nothing; but with God I can do ALL things!”
